Divergent (2014) Storyline
Divergent the movie is story about a girl named Beatrice who is looking for her place in the new system of governance as human civilization coped with their differences after world war III. The devastated war prone area was separated from the developing civilization by a huge wall to avoid any bad reflections of the war. The Leaders in order to avoid any future wars and in order to maintain peace came up with the concept of Factions which were divided into five parts based on human virtues mainly selfless (Abnegation), Truthful and smart (Erudite),Peaceful (Amity),Honest (Candor) and fearless (Dauntless). Each of these groups served the society like the Abnegations helped the poor and even the Factionless who fit in none of the categories, Erudite spoke the truth and provided their views, Amity and Candor kept the factions alive and lively with goods and products, while the Dauntless acted as soldiers to protect the factions. Beatrice always admired the fearless Dauntless but also was smart and selfless when it came to saving someone, so she was confused as to where she belonged in the group of factions.
