How to Hide Undesired Pages in AddThis Recommendation Widgets
- To hide specific window or display pages like the 404 pages, homepage, contact page, etc go to your AddThis Pro dashboard and navigate to "recommended" icon bar option where in you can see all the activity of your current recommendation widgets. In the top right click the "Hide Content" option and enter the URL of the page which you wish to hide and save it in the blacklist.
- Your specified URL's may take some time from showing up as recommendations in AddThis recommendation widgets and in case you wish to remove the link from hidden recommendations then navigate to same page again and scroll down to see the list of all blacklisted links and click on their hide status (unhide) to remove them from being blacklisted on AddThis recommendation widgets.
How to Promote or Feature Specific Pages in AddThis Recommendation Widgets
- To promote specific pages in AddThis recommendation widgets go to AddThis Pro dashboard and navigate to "Recommended" Section and from their click on "Promote Content" option to add in your page URL which you wish to promote and choose a recommendation widget where you wish to promote it.
- Now to remove some of your featured or promoted content from your recommendation widgets navigate to the same page as above and scroll down to see the list of all promoted contents and click on their promoted status to remove them from promoted section of your AddThis recommendation widget.
The Demerits or the blissful merits that may arise are that if you have activated AddThis on multiple number of your sites then these content recommendations also show up on those sites which some of you might want and some of may thereby making it both a plus point and a negative point. Also the feature is quite handy in AddThis pro but for free AddThis recommendation widgets one needs to manually tweak the code and hide and promote content using the AddThis internal code.
